I created the content to make this special video as a personal project four years ago. Like many of you, time gets away from me. Not only time, but memories. In fact, I forgot I even recorded this because it got buried in the "do it later" pile as I worked away on client orders. See how easy it is to forget? Even with something that was so intentionally created to become something great. 

How often do you forget big and little things? We always think we will remember, but as time moves forward, we quickly realize details are so easy to forget. Like my daughter's voice. She sounded similar to Elmo when she was small, but I don't remember it exactly. I might have some small, poor quality video clips here and there of her talking, but I'm not positive... because I forget. 

As I was putting this video together, tears formed because I want so badly to have this for myself. But, after the sadness, I realized what a gift this will be to so many parents that will also soon forget. I am willing to bet that the mother of these cute girls forgot she brought them in for this session because I had her sit in another room. She has never seen this footage or these portraits. Those sweet little voices! These girls don't sound like this anymore. In four short years, they have grown, their voices changed, and most of their answers will have changed. You know what won't change? This video and the beautiful memories it holds. That is the best kind of gift. 

In a few years, jewelry, flowers and candy won't matter, but memories will. They are simply the best gift you can give.
